On May 12th 2012, we celebrated our grand reopening! The Center Schoolhouse has been closed to the public for over a decade due to renovations. Thanks to those who joined us for our reopening celebration! Our new exhibits feature items from the Civil War, World War I, World War II, as well as children's samplers and women's clothing.

The Durham Historical Society is pleased to annouce that we have been awarded a grant of $3,480.00 for display cases from the Middlesex County Community Foundation/Herb and Ellen Patterson Memorial Fund. As the society moves forward in our efforts to bring exhibits on Durham history to the community, we had a great need for display cases for our second floor exhibit space. Thanks to the Middlesex County Community Foundation, we will be able to purchase two display cases that are being custom built at the Cabinet Shoppe in East Hampton, CT. More information about the foundation can be found on their website www.MiddlesexCountyCF.org.
